Be active on most, if not all days of the week

Be active on most, if not all days of the week – Consistency is the key!

Why should you exercise daily?

Exercise and physical activity are far more effective when repeated regularly – especially when you consider what happens to your physiology during and after exercise! Did you know? You continue to experience health benefits from a bout of exercise in the 24 hrs afterward? These benefits include improved hormone control, improved mood and self-esteem, lowered risk of a cardiovascular event and increased brain cell formation – just to name a few!

Our bodies thrive on being well cared for. Regularly lubricating your joints, stimulating your muscles and clearing out your lungs and your head with moderate to vigorous intensity exercise is just one of the many ways we can show our bodies that we love them!

When we look at the evidence to support regular exercise we know that being regularly active has far greater health benefits and outweighs the consequences of being overweight or obese. In our society we focus too much on body image and increased body weight is always blamed for all of our health problems. I argue that although keeping a ‘healthy’ body weight is important, it is the behaviours of eating well and exercising regularly that are more important.

Although our bodies are amazing in the way they work, they are slow to demonstrate change (to the untrained eye anyway). So if you want to see results, you need to be consistent with your exercise… for the long term!

Being physically active is for life, not just for weight loss!
